Matomo Analytics for WordPress
Full Matomo analytics platform running inside WordPress, with ecommerce, goals, tag manager and GDPR tools; premium plugins add heatmaps and more.
Freemium Google Analytics dashboard plugin from Awesome Motive, a close sibling of MonsterInsights, adding GA4 tracking and reports to WordPress.
ExactMetrics (formerly Google Analytics Dashboard for WP) is a Google Analytics plugin owned by Awesome Motive, the company behind MonsterInsights. The two products share a very similar feature set, interface and pricing structure. ExactMetrics connects WordPress to a GA4 property through Google sign-in, adds the tracking code, and then displays Google Analytics data in reports inside the WordPress admin.
The free Lite version covers the GA4 connection, an Overview report and dashboard widget, automatic tracking of outbound, download, email and phone links, role-based report permissions, exclusion of admins and editors from tracking, and a monthly summary email. The WordPress.org listing describes a long list of reports, but most of them are upgrade features rather than part of Lite.
Limitations: the WordPress.org rating is low (about 2.5 out of 5), with many one-star reviews, and active installs have fallen to around 300,000. Like any Google Analytics plugin it is affected by consent requirements and ad blockers, and the advertised prices are first-year discounts that renew at full price. There is little reason to choose it over MonsterInsights unless you prefer its branding or already hold a licence.
Who should pick it: existing ExactMetrics users, or site owners who want a point-and-click GA4 setup with eCommerce and form tracking and are happy with Awesome Motive’s pricing model.
Best for: Existing ExactMetrics customers or sites wanting a GA4 setup tool with eCommerce and form tracking from Awesome Motive.
ExactMetrics does the same job as MonsterInsights, with near-identical features and pricing. It works well enough for GA4 setup, but the free version is limited, renewals are expensive and user ratings are weak, so new buyers will usually be better served by MonsterInsights, Site Kit or a self-hosted tool.
What ExactMetrics highlights on its WordPress.org page and its own website, split by version.

Free installs from WordPress.org, the vendor's own claim, and our estimate of paid installs.

Our estimate, see method below.
How we estimated this: Website scans by WPoptic find the paid plugin (folder exactmetrics-premium) on 1,152 live sites; they find the free version on 153,221 sites against about 250K WordPress.org installs, so each site found stands for about 1.6, giving 1.9K. About 250K free installs x 8% (the usual share of free sites that also run the paid version when some key features are paid) gives 20K. Combining these (weighted average) gives about 2.6K. The vendor claims 1M+ sites in total. Taking away about 250K free installs leaves 750K, and 80% of that is 600K. Vendor totals are loose, so we only move our figure part of the way toward it, from 2.6K to 3.2K. Likely range: 2.1K to 4.8K. This counts sites running the paid version, including sites whose licence has lapsed. Estimates are rough and based on public figures as of 14 Oct 2026.
