WPML
Premium multilingual plugin for WordPress with a side-by-side translation editor, AI translation credits, WooCommerce support and team workflows.
Hosted translation service with a WordPress plugin: AI translation, visual editor and multilingual SEO, priced by translated words and languages.
Weglot is a cloud translation service that connects to WordPress through a plugin on WordPress.org. After you add your API key and pick languages, Weglot detects the text on every page, translates it with AI and serves the translated versions under language subdirectories. Translations are stored on Weglot’s servers and managed in its web dashboard rather than in your WordPress database.
Pricing is a subscription based on translated words and the number of languages. The free plan allows 2,000 words and one language. Paid plans run from Starter (10,000 words, one language) through Business (50,000 words, three languages), Pro (200,000 words, five languages), Advanced and Extended, with Enterprise above. Translated URL slugs start at Pro, export and import at Advanced, and translation memory and top-level domains only on Extended. Yearly billing gives two months free.
Costs grow with your word count and language count, and every plan has a cap, so large or fast-growing sites can become expensive. Translations live in Weglot’s cloud: you can export them on higher plans, but the translated site depends on an active subscription. Translated slugs are not available below Pro, and there is no multi-currency.
Weglot is a good choice for marketing sites and stores that want multilingual SEO with minimal setup and are comfortable with a recurring, usage-based SaaS fee.
Best for: Marketing sites and stores that want multilingual SEO with minimal setup and accept a recurring usage-based fee.
Weglot is the quickest way to get a well-indexed multilingual WordPress site, and its AI and editing tools are polished. The trade-off is cost and control: pricing scales with words and languages, translated slugs start at Pro, and your translations live in Weglot's cloud.

Our estimate, see method below.
How we estimated this: About 55K free installs x 25% (the usual share of free sites that also run the paid version when a hosted service whose free tier is tightly capped) gives 14K. The vendor claims 110K+ sites in total. Taking away about 55K free installs leaves 55K, and 80% of that is 44K. Vendor totals are loose, so we only move our figure part of the way toward it, from 14K to 17K. Likely range: 8.5K to 34K. This counts sites running the paid version, including sites whose licence has lapsed. Estimates are rough and based on public figures as of 14 Oct 2026.
