The most widely installed visual page builder for WordPress, with a free drag-and-drop editor and Pro plans adding theme, popup, form and…
Premium visual theme and builder from Elegant Themes with unlimited-site licences, 2,000+ layouts and the rebuilt Divi 5 engine.
Divi is Elegant Themes’ combined theme and visual builder. It ships as the Divi theme and as the standalone Divi Builder plugin for use with other themes. There is no free version: one membership covers every feature on unlimited websites, which is the main reason agencies and freelancers have stuck with it for years.
Divi 5 left public beta and became the stable release on 26 February 2026. It replaces Divi 4’s shortcode storage with a block-style format, adds flexbox and CSS grid layouts, design variables, class-like presets, an interaction builder, a Loop Builder for posts, terms and users, and Canvases for off-canvas content and popups. Elegant Themes says it is backward compatible, so Divi 4 sites can upgrade with one click.
The core Divi plan costs $89/year or $249 once for lifetime access. Divi AI (layout, text, image and code generation) and unlimited Divi Cloud storage are paid services, bundled with VIP support and Teams seats in Divi Pro at $277/year. Every member gets 50 free Cloud items.
Divi has a long history of heavy front-end output. Divi 5’s critical CSS and on-demand scripts help, but it is still not as lean as developer-focused builders. There is no official white-label tool, and leaving Divi still means rebuilding layouts, even though Divi 5 no longer leaves shortcodes behind.
Who should pick it: agencies and freelancers building many client sites who value a one-price unlimited licence, a large layout library and an all-in-one theme plus builder.
Best for: Agencies and freelancers who want an all-in-one theme and builder licensed for unlimited client sites.
Divi offers strong value for anyone building lots of sites, and Divi 5 fixes many long-standing complaints about shortcodes and performance. Developers chasing the leanest markup may still prefer Bricks or Oxygen, but for designers wanting layouts and features out of the box Divi is a solid pick.
What Divi highlights on its own website, split by version.
