WPForms
Beginner-friendly drag-and-drop form builder from Awesome Motive with a free Lite plugin, 2,100+ templates and tiered Pro plans for payments and CRMs.
Long-running premium drag-and-drop form builder sold on CodeCanyon for a one-off fee; solid core forms, logic and spam tools, few native integrations.
Quform is a premium WordPress form builder by ThemeCatcher, sold through CodeCanyon since around 2011. There is no free version on WordPress.org; you pay once for a Regular licence covering one site, with lifetime updates and six months of support (support can be extended).
The builder is a drag-and-drop editor with 19 element types, including groups and column layouts for complex arrangements. Core features include multi-page forms, conditional logic for fields and notifications, file uploads with progress bars, 15 validators and 6 filters, unlimited email notifications with conditional recipients, form scheduling and entry limits, and a full entries screen where you can search, label, edit and export submissions to .xls, .xlsx, .csv, .ods or .html. Eleven bundled themes plus per-element style settings handle appearance. Spam protection is a strong point, with honeypot, image captcha, reCAPTCHA (v2, invisible and v3), hCaptcha and Cloudflare Turnstile all built in.
Integrations are minimal: free official add-ons connect Mailchimp, Zapier (via a Zapier webhook) and WPML. A separate, paid Quform AI add-on lets you build and edit forms by chatting, priced by monthly credit packages. Forms can be placed with a Gutenberg block, shortcode, popup shortcode or widget.
Several features modern builders treat as standard are missing. Payments (PayPal, Stripe), calculations, save-and-resume, repeatable groups, signatures and front-end post creation are only possible by following ThemeCatcher’s custom-code guides. There are no quizzes, surveys, conversational forms, PDF generation, user registration or CRM connectors such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
Quform suits developers and site owners who want a stable, well-built form tool without a yearly subscription, and who are comfortable adding code for anything beyond classic contact, enquiry and application forms. If you need payments, calculations or marketing integrations out of the box, a freemium builder will serve you better.
Best for: Developers and budget-conscious site owners who want a solid one-time-purchase form builder for classic forms.
Quform is a mature, reliable builder with excellent spam controls and a fair one-off price. Its feature set has not kept pace with modern freemium rivals, so anything beyond multi-page forms with logic usually means custom code.

Our estimate, see method below.
How we estimated this: 36,342 paying customers or sales over 15 years; assuming 30% still use it and 1.3 sites per licence gives 14K. The vendor says 30K+ sites use it, and 80% of that is 24K. Vendor totals are loose, so we only move our figure part of the way toward it, from 14K to 17K. Likely range: 8.5K to 34K. This counts sites running the paid version, including sites whose licence has lapsed. Estimates are rough and based on public figures as of 14 Oct 2026.
| Paying customers claimed | 36K+ (source, 5 Oct 2026) CodeCanyon shows 36,342 sales (4.74/5 from ~2.4K ratings). |
