Flexible Shipping
Table rate shipping for WooCommerce by Octolize: free weight and cart-total rules, PRO adds class, product, quantity, role and time conditions.
Rule-based flat rate and table rate shipping for WooCommerce, with conditions by product, category, location, user, weight and cart totals.
Advanced Flat Rate Shipping for WooCommerce (listed on WordPress.org as Flat Rate Shipping Method for WooCommerce) is Dotstore’s rule-based shipping plugin. Instead of the single flat rate WooCommerce offers per zone, you create as many custom shipping methods as you need and attach conditions that decide when each one appears and what it costs. It has been on WordPress.org since 2015 and is still updated regularly.
The free version already covers a lot: per-item, per-order and weight-based costs, rules for specific products and categories, country, state, postcode and zone targeting, user-specific methods, free shipping based on a minimum order amount or coupon, tooltip descriptions under each method, and a choice of radio button or dropdown display. The paid version (from $179 a year for one site) unlocks unlimited rules and many more conditions: tags, SKUs, attributes, user roles, shipping classes, payment method, cart quantity and dimensions, plus scheduling by date, weekday and time.
This is a rate calculator only. It has no live carrier rates, no label printing, no tracking and no box packing, so stores that ship with UPS, FedEx or USPS will need a separate carrier plugin or service. There is no built-in free shipping progress bar either, although the changelog notes compatibility with a separate progress-bar plugin. Many of the most useful conditions, such as shipping class and user role, sit behind the paid licence, and the free plugin’s admin contains frequent upgrade prompts.
Who should pick it: stores that charge their own shipping prices and need finer control than WooCommerce zones allow, for example different rates per category, per customer group or by weight bands. Merchants who want real-time carrier quotes or labels should look at a carrier-integration plugin instead.
Best for: Stores that set their own shipping prices and need conditional flat or table rates beyond WooCommerce zones.
Dotstore's plugin is a capable conditional rate builder with a free version that is usable on its own. It is purely about calculating rates, so pair it with a carrier tool if you need labels, and check that the conditions you need are not Pro-only before committing.
