Woo Subscriptions
Woo's official premium extension for selling recurring products, memberships and subscription boxes, with renewals, switching, retries and gifting.
Low-cost CodeCanyon subscription plugin for WooCommerce by Fantastic Plugins with built-in Stripe and PayPal renewals, sync, switching and order subscriptions.
SUMO Subscriptions is a premium-only WooCommerce subscription plugin from Fantastic Plugins, sold through Envato’s CodeCanyon marketplace. It has been on sale for years, has more than 5,000 sales and is regularly updated, with version 17.7 released in August 2026.
The plugin supports simple, variable and grouped subscription products with free or paid trials and optional sign-up fees. A distinctive Order Subscription mode lets shoppers turn an ordinary cart of non-subscription products into a recurring order, choosing the renewal frequency and number of instalments themselves.
SUMO ships its own gateways, so you do not need extra plugins for automatic renewals: Stripe card payments and PayPal via Reference Transactions or the PayPal Subscriptions API, plus SUMO Reward Points as a payment method. Any other WooCommerce gateway can be used for manual renewals. Failed renewals move through configurable overdue and suspend periods with reminder emails, and automatic payment retries can be scheduled several times a day.
There is no skip or gifting feature on the feature list, reporting is limited to logs rather than MRR or churn analytics, and no importer from other plugins is advertised. As a CodeCanyon item, the $49 price is a one-time licence for one site with six months of support included; longer support costs extra.
SUMO Subscriptions suits cost-conscious stores that want a broad feature set without annual fees, particularly those using other SUMO plugins such as Reward Points or Memberships.
Best for: Cost-conscious WooCommerce stores that want a feature-rich subscription system for a single one-time fee.
SUMO Subscriptions packs most of what Woo Subscriptions does, including built-in Stripe and PayPal renewals, into a $49 one-off purchase. Weaker reporting, no skip or gifting and CodeCanyon-style support are the trade-offs, but the value is hard to argue with.

This counts sites running the paid version, including sites whose licence has lapsed. Estimates are rough and based on public figures as of 14 Oct 2026.
