Coupon Affiliates
WooCommerce-only affiliate plugin that ties each affiliate to a coupon code, with referral links, a front-end dashboard and a PRO tier for…
Free affiliate program plugin by itthinx with paid Pro and Enterprise editions adding WooCommerce sync, banners, rates and multi-tier.
Affiliates by itthinx is one of the older affiliate program plugins for WordPress. It comes in three editions: the free Affiliates plugin on WordPress.org, and the paid Affiliates Pro and Affiliates Enterprise editions sold on itthinx.com. A range of small extensions adds specific capabilities on top.
The free plugin handles unlimited affiliates, automated registration with optional approval, and an affiliate area built from blocks or shortcodes showing stats, earnings and links. Visits are logged with source, landing page and user agent, and referrals can be recorded automatically through integrations or added manually. Free “light” integrations connect WooCommerce, Contact Form 7, Ninja Forms, Formidable and Events Manager, applying a single global commission rate.
Paid extensions include Affiliates Coupons (auto-generated coupons per affiliate), Affiliates Permanent (lifetime customer assignment), Affiliates by Username (usernames in links) and Affiliates Products (per-product partner commissions).
Functionality is spread across editions and add-ons, which makes total cost harder to judge and setup more involved. The admin UI is functional rather than modern, payouts are file-based rather than sent automatically, and there is no Easy Digital Downloads integration or built-in fraud scoring. Documentation is thorough but dense.
Choose it if you want a flexible, developer-friendly affiliate system with a capable free tier and the option of multi-tier commissions, and are comfortable assembling the extensions you need.
Best for: Technically comfortable store owners who want a flexible affiliate system, including multi-tier programs, at a modest licence cost.
Affiliates by itthinx is a mature, flexible option whose free edition is genuinely usable and whose Enterprise tier is one of the cheaper ways to run multi-tier programs. The trade-off is fragmentation: WooCommerce coupons, lifetime links and vanity links each need separate extensions, and the UI shows its age.
What Affiliates by itthinx highlights on its WordPress.org page and its own website, split by version.

How we estimated this: About 2.5K free installs x 30% (the usual share of free sites that also run the paid version when many key features are paid, and store owners upgrade more often) gives 750. Likely range: 380 to 1.5K. This counts sites running the paid version, including sites whose licence has lapsed. Estimates are rough and based on public figures as of 14 Oct 2026.
