Overview
AffiliateWP is a premium affiliate management plugin from Awesome Motive, first released in 2014. It runs on your own WordPress site and connects to more than 20 commerce, membership, LMS and form plugins, including WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, MemberPress and LearnDash. Commissions are tracked through referral links, affiliate coupons and, on higher plans, direct links with no referral parameter.
Every plan includes unlimited affiliates and referrals with no platform fees. You also get pretty referral URLs, tracked affiliate coupons, an affiliate dashboard, creatives, real-time reports and per-product or per-category rates through each integration. Payouts are built in on all plans: PayPal Payouts, Stripe (to affiliates’ bank accounts), store credit and international bank payouts. These used to be separate add-ons and are now configured in a Payouts tab.
The Plus plan adds multi-currency commissions, leaderboards, sign-up/welcome bonuses, checkout affiliate selection and custom registration via Gravity Forms or Ninja Forms. The Pro plan unlocks the features growing programmes usually want: recurring referrals for subscriptions, lifetime commissions, tiered rates, multi-tier (MLM) commissions up to five levels, landing pages, vanity coupon codes, direct link tracking, the Affiliate Portal, automatic payouts and the fraud prevention suite.

AffiliateWP is a good choice for sites that sell through several platforms, or that want a long-established tool with deep integrations and are happy to pay for the Pro plan.
Best for: Businesses selling through WooCommerce, EDD or membership/LMS plugins that want a mature, widely integrated affiliate platform and can budget for the Pro plan.
AffiliateWP is a mature, widely integrated WordPress affiliate plugin, and its built-in payouts are a real advantage. The catch is cost: many features that programmes rely on, such as recurring and lifetime commissions, tiered rates and fraud tools, sit in the Pro plan, which renews at $599 a year. If you only need WooCommerce, cheaper options cover much of the same ground.
