Ultimate Gift Cards for WooCommerce
Freemium gift card plugin by WP Swings with flexible pricing types, templates and a POS gifting portal; Pro adds PDFs, scheduling and…
Freemium gift card plugin from YITH for selling virtual and physical WooCommerce gift cards, with a premium version for scheduling, PDFs and custom amounts.
YITH WooCommerce Gift Cards is YITH’s gift card plugin for WooCommerce. It has a free version on WordPress.org and a premium version sold on yithemes.com. Even the free version handles both virtual cards (sent by email) and physical cards (shipped like a normal product), which many free rivals leave out.
In the free version you create gift card products with fixed amounts, build an image gallery shoppers can choose from, and collect the sender’s name, the recipient and a message on the product page. Codes are emailed automatically once the order is processing or complete. Customers redeem the code in the cart or at checkout, and partial use is supported, so the remaining balance carries over. A backend dashboard lists every card with its original and current balance, and you can create cards or change balances without placing an order.
The premium single-site licence is listed at $129.99 a year, and 6-site and 30-site licences are also available. YITH offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.
The free version’s WordPress.org rating is mixed (about 3.3/5). Reviewers mention support response times, translation limits in emails and changes in behaviour between versions. The plugin has no account-level store credit or wallet, and we found no documented point-of-sale integration. It is HPOS compatible, and the changelog notes WooCommerce Blocks support from version 4.3.
Who it suits: stores that want physical and virtual cards plus extras like “gift this product”, and that already use or are comfortable with the YITH ecosystem.
Best for: Stores that sell both physical and emailed gift cards and want premium extras like product-linked gift cards inside the YITH ecosystem.
YITH Gift Cards has a broad feature set, and its free version is unusually generous with physical cards and image galleries. Mixed reviews about support and stability, plus a fairly high premium price, mean it is worth testing carefully before you commit.

Our estimate, see method below.
How we estimated this: Website scans by WPoptic find the paid plugin (folder yith-woocommerce-gift-cards-premium) on 1,060 live sites; they find the free version on 3,086 sites against about 15K WordPress.org installs, so each site found stands for about 4.9, giving 5.2K. 66,538 paying customers or sales over 11 years; assuming 30% still use it and 1.3 sites per licence gives 26K. About 15K free installs x 12% (the usual share of free sites that also run the paid version when some key features are paid, and store owners upgrade more often) gives 1.8K. Combining these (weighted average) gives about 8.4K. Likely range: 5.5K to 13K. This counts sites running the paid version, including sites whose licence has lapsed. Estimates are rough and based on public figures as of 14 Oct 2026.
