YITH's WooCommerce filter with presets, blocks and colour swatches; premium adds price sliders, stock/sale and rating filters, mobile modal and active labels.
YITH WooCommerce Ajax Product Filter is YITH’s filter plugin for WooCommerce, and one of the older filter plugins on WordPress.org (its slug, ajax-navigation, dates from its early days). Since version 4 it is built around presets: reusable groups of filters that you place on the shop, category pages or any custom page through a widget, shortcode, Gutenberg block or Elementor widget.
The free version covers the basics: filters by category, tag and any product attribute, shown as checkboxes, selects, text lists or colour swatches, with AND/OR logic, term ordering, hierarchy display, a reset button, adaptive filtering that hides empty terms, and an option to stop search engines indexing filtered URLs. It declares compatibility with WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage.
Many filters stores rely on are in the premium version: price slider and price ranges, on-sale and in-stock filters, a review/rating filter, AJAX sorting, item counts, active filter labels, a mobile modal layout, bicolour and image swatches, variation-aware filtering, tooltips, toggles, a styling tab and permalink options for filtered URLs. YITH does not show the price as text on its product page; third-party comparisons list it at about $79.99 per year for one site, with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
It is a reasonable pick for stores already using YITH plugins or a YITH theme that want a tidy preset-based filter. Stores that need custom fields, search statistics or SEO filter pages should look at the alternatives.
Best for: Stores already in the YITH ecosystem that want simple preset-based attribute filters.
YITH's filter is tidy and well integrated with blocks and Elementor, but the free version leaves out price, stock and sale filters and counts, and there is no custom-field support. It is fine for straightforward catalogues, less so for complex ones.

Our estimate, see method below.
How we estimated this: Website scans by WPoptic find the paid plugin (folder yith-woocommerce-ajax-product-filter-premium) on 8,810 live sites; they find the free version on 27,869 sites against about 75K WordPress.org installs, so each site found stands for about 2.7, giving 24K. 44,759 paying customers or sales over 12 years; assuming 30% still use it and 1.3 sites per licence gives 17K. About 75K free installs x 12% (the usual share of free sites that also run the paid version when some key features are paid, and store owners upgrade more often) gives 9K. Combining these (weighted average) gives about 19K. Likely range: 12K to 29K. This counts sites running the paid version, including sites whose licence has lapsed. Estimates are rough and based on public figures as of 14 Oct 2026.
