WP Mail SMTP
Widely used SMTP plugin from the WPForms team: 15 mailers free, with logs, alerts, backup connections and smart routing in Pro.
Elementor's hosted email sending service for WordPress (now listed as Email Deliverability). No SMTP setup, logs, resend and open tracking; 200 free emails.
Site Mailer is Elementor’s email delivery plugin. Its WordPress.org listing now calls it Email Deliverability (formerly Site Mailer). It is not a classic SMTP plugin. You do not add your own SMTP server or API key; you connect the site to your Elementor account, and every wp_mail() message is sent through Elementor’s cloud email service. The service receives the addresses, subject, body and attachments of each email.
Setup is short: install, click Connect, and emails start going out from a default Site Mailer sender. For better inbox placement you can add a custom sending domain. A wizard walks you through the SPF, DKIM and DMARC DNS records, and you can then set your own From address, sender name and Reply-To.
The free plan covers one site and 200 emails in total, not per month. After that, sending stops until you upgrade. Paid sending is now part of Elementor One: each delivered email costs 10 credits from a monthly pool that is shared with Elementor’s AI, image optimisation and accessibility tools. One includes 25,000 credits a month (up to about 2,500 emails if spent only on email) and One Agency includes 350,000.
You cannot use your own provider (SES, SendGrid, Gmail, Microsoft 365), so there is no failover between services. The only fallback is native wp_mail if the service errors. Retention is fixed at 30 days, there are no failure alerts, no staging mode and no email on/off controls. The plugin scores 2.5/5 on WordPress.org, with complaints about a forced Reply-To and unexpected installs.
Who should pick it: Elementor One subscribers who want transactional email handled without touching SMTP settings. Sites that already have an email provider, or that send in volume, will usually get more control and value from a traditional SMTP plugin.
Best for: Elementor One subscribers who want transactional email to work without configuring SMTP.
Site Mailer is the simplest option here: connect, verify a domain and emails flow through Elementor's service. The trade-off is lock-in. The free allowance is tiny, paid use draws on shared Elementor One credits, and you cannot bring your own provider. That makes it a convenience pick for existing Elementor One customers rather than a general SMTP plugin.
What Site Mailer highlights on its WordPress.org page and its own website, split by version.

Our estimate, see method below.
How we estimated this: The vendor figure (200K+) is within WordPress.org's rounding of the free installs, so it says nothing about paid sites. About 250K free installs x 40% (the usual share of free sites that also run the paid version when many key features are paid, and Pro is included in a wider membership) gives 100K. Likely range: 50K to 200K. This counts sites running the paid version, including sites whose licence has lapsed. Estimates are rough and based on public figures as of 14 Oct 2026.
