Envira Gallery
Drag-and-drop WordPress gallery plugin with a free Lite version and paid add-ons for albums, video, proofing, watermarks and WooCommerce selling.
Freemium gallery plugin from 10Web with nine-plus views, albums, a 15-effect lightbox, watermarks, tag filters and Instagram embeds for photo-heavy sites.
Photo Gallery by 10Web is one of the longest-running free gallery plugins on WordPress.org. It manages its own gallery database rather than relying on the native WordPress gallery, so you build galleries in a dedicated admin screen, upload images in bulk or pull them from the Media Library, then group galleries into albums and embed them with a shortcode, Gutenberg block, Elementor widget or sidebar widget.
The free version is broad. It ships with thumbnail, masonry, mosaic, slideshow, image browser, blog style and compact or extended album views, plus a responsive lightbox with 15 transition effects, filmstrip, autoplay and full-width mode. Text or image watermarks, right-click protection, social sharing buttons, front-end tag filtering, image search, load more or scroll-to-load pagination and optional lazy loading are all included without paying. You can also embed YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr, Dailymotion and Instagram media, and bulk-embed an Instagram account that refreshes automatically.
The paid licences are sold as one-off purchases that include six months of updates and email support: Basic for one site, Pro for five and a Plugin Bundle covering 30 sites plus 10Web’s other premium plugins. Premium adds an extra gallery view, customisable themes, image commenting and rating with CAPTCHA, a dynamic tag cloud widget, finer role management for who can edit galleries, and support for the Google Photos and Export/Import add-ons.
Photo Gallery suits bloggers, photographers and small businesses who want a lot of free gallery functionality, including watermarks and albums, and are comfortable with a traditional settings-heavy admin. Teams that want a lightweight gallery that extends the core block editor may prefer a simpler option.
Best for: Photographers and bloggers who want albums, watermarks and many layouts for free in a traditional gallery manager.
Photo Gallery gives away more than most freemium rivals, including watermarks, albums, tag filtering and social sharing. The trade-offs are a cluttered interface and a short six-month update window on premium purchases, so it fits best when the free version alone covers your needs.
