Envira Gallery
Drag-and-drop WordPress gallery plugin with a free Lite version and paid add-ons for albums, video, proofing, watermarks and WooCommerce selling.
Fast WordPress gallery plugin with seven free layouts, built-in albums and lightbox, plus affordable PRO plans for video, filtering and WooCommerce.
FooGallery by FooPlugins is a gallery plugin that works on top of the standard WordPress media library and puts a lot of functionality into its free version. It is aimed at site owners, photographers and agencies who want attractive galleries without writing code, and it pays close attention to Core Web Vitals.
You create a gallery, choose a layout from a visual selector, drag in images (uploads also land in the media library) and adjust settings with a live preview that includes a mobile device switcher. Galleries are added with a block or shortcode. The free version includes seven layouts (Responsive, Image Viewer, Masonry, Portfolio, Justified, Single Thumbnail and Carousel), a built-in lightbox, hover effects, lazy loading, basic pagination, albums, password-protected galleries, import and export, multisite support and a migrator for Envira, NextGEN and Modula galleries. A Media Audit tool flags missing files, oversized images and alt text issues.
PRO is sold in three plans. PRO Starter adds Polaroid, Grid, Slider and Spotlight layouts, hover presets, thumbnail effects, mobile-specific settings and colour sorting. PRO Expert adds video galleries, filtering and search, dynamic galleries from folders, Lightroom or posts, load more and infinite scroll, EXIF, custom captions, deeplinking and ImageGallery schema. PRO Commerce adds WooCommerce product galleries, master-product selling, watermarking and right-click protection. Client Proofing, Social, User Uploads and Whitelabel are separate paid add-ons that also work with the free plugin.
FooGallery gives strong value, a modern editor and a fast front end. Limitations include no Instagram or Google Photos sources, watermarking tied to the Commerce plan, and listed prices that cover a single site, with extra sites added at checkout.
FooGallery is a good pick for most site owners who want capable free galleries, and for photographers who want WooCommerce selling at a modest price.
Best for: Site owners who want a capable free gallery plugin and photographers who want affordable WooCommerce photo selling.
FooGallery offers one of the most generous free tiers in the category and modestly priced PRO plans. It lacks social-feed sources and puts watermarking in its top plan, but for most sites it is excellent value.

Our estimate, see method below.
How we estimated this: The vendor figure (100K+) is within WordPress.org's rounding of the free installs, so it says nothing about paid sites. Website scans by WPoptic find the paid plugin (folder foogallery-premium) on 1,047 live sites; they find the free version on 67,252 sites against about 150K WordPress.org installs, so each site found stands for about 2.2, giving 2.3K. About 150K free installs x 4% (the usual share of free sites that also run the paid version when most features are free) gives 6K. Combining these (weighted average) gives about 2.7K. Likely range: 1.8K to 4.1K. This counts sites running the paid version, including sites whose licence has lapsed. Estimates are rough and based on public figures as of 14 Oct 2026.
