Overview

Discount Rules for WooCommerce (often called Woo Discount Rules) is a dynamic pricing plugin from Flycart. Instead of creating coupon codes, you build rules that adjust prices automatically when their filters and conditions match. Each rule has a discount type, a product filter (all products, specific products, categories, attributes, tags, SKUs or brands), optional extra conditions and a validity period.

The plugin offers seven rule types: product adjustments, cart adjustments, bulk (tiered) discounts, bundle or set discounts, Buy X Get X, Buy X Get Y and free shipping. A global setting decides how overlapping rules behave: apply the first match, the biggest or lowest discount, or every matching rule, optionally one after another. An exclusive switch lets a single rule override everything else.

Free vs PRO

The free version on WordPress.org covers storewide percentage sales, product-specific discounts, quantity tiers with a bulk pricing table on the product page, order-total and line-item cart discounts, product exclusions and time-limited sales. Strikethrough prices and the built-in reports also work without a licence.

PRO unlocks most of the targeting: category, attribute and variant discounts, user role and wholesale pricing, BOGO and Buy X Get Y offers, bundle or set prices, free shipping rules, first-order and purchase-history conditions, coupon-activated rules and URL coupons, plus display extras such as the discount bar, sale badges and a “You saved” message.

  • Seven discount types managed from one rule list.
  • Conditions on cart subtotal, quantities, user role, email domain, shipping address, payment method and order history (mostly PRO).
  • Discount reports with charts, including per-rule and BOGO reports.
  • Declared HPOS support since version 2.6.0.

Limitations

The free version is useful for simple sales and quantity tiers, but common deals such as BOGO, category discounts and role pricing all need PRO. Block checkout support is not formally documented, although the changelog includes block checkout fixes. With many rules active, the apply-mode settings need care to avoid unexpected stacking.

It suits stores that want a rule builder covering most promotion types at a modest annual price, and that are happy to upgrade once they go beyond basic sales and tiered pricing.

Best for: Stores that want a broad rule builder for tiered, cart, BOGO and role-based discounts at a modest yearly price.

Discount Rules covers almost every common WooCommerce promotion from one rule list, and its free tier handles basic sales and quantity tiers well. Most targeted deals need PRO, but the licence is cheaper than many rivals and the plugin is widely used and well rated.

Pros

  • Seven rule types, including bundle or set pricing and Buy X Get Y
  • Free version includes quantity tiers, a bulk pricing table and strikethrough prices
  • Flexible apply modes: first match, biggest, lowest or all matching rules
  • Purchase-history, email-domain, shipping-location and payment-method conditions in PRO
  • Built-in discount reports with per-rule charts
  • Declared WooCommerce HPOS support

Cons

  • BOGO, category and user role discounts all require PRO
  • Discount bar, sale badges and 'You saved' message are PRO-only
  • Block checkout support is not formally documented
  • Rule stacking settings can be confusing with many overlapping rules

Vendor claim 100K+

Estimated Pro / paid installs ~18K

Our estimate, see method below.

How we estimated this: The vendor figure (100K+) is within WordPress.org's rounding of the free installs, so it says nothing about paid sites. About 150K free installs x 12% (the usual share of free sites that also run the paid version when some key features are paid, and store owners upgrade more often) gives 18K. Likely range: 9K to 36K. This counts sites running the paid version, including sites whose licence has lapsed. Estimates are rough and based on public figures as of 14 Oct 2026.
