Smash Balloon Social Photo Feed
Awesome Motive's Instagram feed plugin for WordPress, part of the Smash Balloon family with separate Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and X feed plugins.
Freemium plugin for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok feeds, plus review widgets, chat buttons and testimonials, from WPManageNinja.
WP Social Ninja is a WordPress plugin from WPManageNinja, the team behind Fluent Forms, that bundles three kinds of social proof in one dashboard: social media feeds, business review widgets and floating chat buttons. Testimonials and review notification popups sit alongside them. This profile looks at its social feed side.
You connect a platform under WP Social Ninja > Platforms, pick a template, adjust it in the template editor and place the feed with a shortcode, the Social Ninja Gutenberg block or a widget for Elementor, Beaver Builder or Oxygen. Feeds for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok are fetched on an auto-sync schedule you choose (for example every 6 hours, daily or weekly). The plugin can save resized images to your own media storage, and a GDPR setting then shows only those local copies rather than loading pictures from the network’s CDN.
The free version covers all four feed networks with one basic layout and template per network, column and gap controls, auto-sync, email alerts when a feed breaks, local images and GDPR mode. Pro adds more feed types (Instagram hashtags, Facebook events and albums, live streams), extra templates, carousel and masonry layouts, a lightbox popup, likes and comments, header and style controls, show/hide filters by word or hashtag, pagination and the shoppable Instagram feed. Every paid plan also unlocks the Pro review sources and chat channels.
There is no social wall that mixes networks into one stream, and no Pinterest, LinkedIn or Threads feed. An X (Twitter) feed is still documented, but it needs your own X developer API keys and is no longer part of the marketed feed list. The free layout options are thin, so most sites wanting a polished carousel or popup will need Pro.
Who should pick it: sites that want Instagram, Facebook, YouTube or TikTok feeds and would also use Google reviews, a WhatsApp chat button or testimonials, since one licence replaces several single-purpose plugins.
Best for: Sites that want Instagram, Facebook, YouTube or TikTok feeds and would also use review widgets or chat buttons from the same plugin.
WP Social Ninja is good value if you need more than feeds: one licence covers social feeds, reviews and chat widgets, and the free version already handles four networks with local images and a GDPR mode. Pure feed users will find the free layouts basic and no social wall option, so specialist feed plugins may suit them better.

Our estimate, see method below.
How we estimated this: The vendor figure (30K+) is within WordPress.org's rounding of the free installs, so it says nothing about paid sites. About 35K free installs x 8% (the usual share of free sites that also run the paid version when some key features are paid) gives 2.8K. Likely range: 1.4K to 5.6K. This counts sites running the paid version, including sites whose licence has lapsed. Estimates are rough and based on public figures as of 14 Oct 2026.
