PowerPress Podcasting by Blubrry
Free Blubrry plugin that builds Apple/Spotify-ready podcast feeds from WordPress posts, with players, Podcasting 2.0 tags and optional hosting.
Official Buzzsprout plugin with Player and Episode List blocks that stay in sync with your Buzzsprout-hosted show. For Buzzsprout customers.
Buzzsprout Podcasting is the official WordPress plugin for Buzzsprout, a podcast host based in Jacksonville, Florida that has been running since 2009. The plugin does not create a feed or host audio itself; instead you paste your Buzzsprout RSS feed URL once and then place episodes anywhere with two editor blocks. No API keys are needed.
Both blocks work in the Site Editor and block themes, and old [buzzsprout] shortcodes convert to blocks automatically. The feed is cached for 15 minutes, so new episodes appear on the site shortly after you publish in Buzzsprout.
Most podcast features live in Buzzsprout rather than in WordPress. The free Buzzsprout plan gives 2 hours of uploads a month, but episodes are removed after 90 days. Paid plans start at $15 a month billed annually (Audio) and add automatic transcripts, Advanced Stats, a podcast website, Subscriptions with premium RSS feeds, listener support, Buzzsprout Ads and Dynamic Content. Video distribution to Apple Podcasts, Spotify and YouTube needs the Audio + Video plan, and a Multi-Podcast plan covers up to 5 or 10 shows. Chapter markers, scheduling and directory distribution are handled in the Buzzsprout dashboard.
The plugin is deliberately small: it has no sticky player, no episode schema, no subscribe-button block and no stats inside WordPress. The player keeps Buzzsprout’s own look, so only the simple list style inherits your theme. It is only useful if your show is hosted on Buzzsprout.
Choose it if you already host on Buzzsprout and want a reliable, low-maintenance way to show episodes on a WordPress site. If you want WordPress to own the feed, a self-hosted podcasting plugin is a better fit.
Best for: Buzzsprout customers who want their latest episodes and playlists on a WordPress site with almost no setup.
As a bridge between Buzzsprout and WordPress it does its job cleanly: two well-built blocks, automatic updates and nothing to configure beyond a feed URL. It is not a podcasting system in its own right, so its value depends entirely on whether Buzzsprout is the right host for you.

Our estimate, see method below.
How we estimated this: About 5.5K free installs x 25% (the usual share of free sites that also run the paid version when a hosted service whose free tier is tightly capped) gives 1.4K. Likely range: 700 to 2.8K. This counts sites running the paid version, including sites whose licence has lapsed. Estimates are rough and based on public figures as of 14 Oct 2026.
